Another Jumble Rumble is going down at The Gallery on 4th this Saturday! and it turns out that okmalumkoolkat the 8bit half human half robot will be throwing it down too. Well, most people will be confused between okmalumkoolkat as a separate entity from Dirty Paraffin.

Nothing has changed, it's the same ol' same but it's just SpiZee has to attend a close friend's funeral ( God bless her soul and may she rest in peace ) so I am gonna throw our traks ( Dirty Paraffin ) but I will be by meself with a likkle chorEography collabo with Krak Rad B!

JAMOOL MAKES THE SUPER SUPER BY PURE STAYELA!

My boy Jamal Nxedlana just made it to the pages of Super Super magazine for his off left street stayela in London. Mr. Nxedlana is a Fashion graduate from The Durban Institute and the boy was already upsetting the streets of eThekwini with his sense of get ups on a reg. His wasn't pushing this by his self, there were other soldiers in tow, names like Dino, Ravi, J.R, Scelo and other additions that were recruited along the way.

These boys weren't the first to push eThekwini to a state of near eye-openess, there were torch bearers from a era before them, but those members were pushing something entirely different.
The likes of Puma, Giorgio Gambino, Reece, Rory, Darren, Mylo, Lloyd, Lyle etc were pushing something they called FUNK and it was the freshest ( I come from that school of thought ) gear or combos you could put together, it was a mix of swagger and knowing what's good at all times with a lot of gear hunting at the Hospices, Charity shops and Berea market pile digging, never mind the Workshop. So a lot of that movement was taken from old photos of our parents in their hey days but mixed with a lot streetwear elements like sneakers, leather wrist cuffs, Iron Fist Tees etc.

When Jamal and his gang of upsetters started to get serious on their new and improved movement, the old don's moved on to other things because:
a. They were maturing and seeking fulfillment elsewhere.
b. They just wasn't digging the new new.

This movement was purely about upsetting the average Joe with a thick layer of fashion era references that weren't necessarily macho as before, the one phase that actually upset the old order was when the members were busting 'Androgyny' , cats wouldn't have it. But Jamal and his band of fashion forward compadres soldiered on, they had the creative rationales for all the phases or combos and new orders were written and followed. When they met Justin Mcgee, the circle was now complete because now it wasn't just for Thekwini streets only, it was for the whole wide web, through a project Justin Mcgee and Dan were nursing to life called The Beard.
The Beard ( CULT ZHIT ) is still one of my favourite sites that I would visit regurlaly and the cobrasnake of course. The photoshootis that followed were monumental and some are still way fresher than most of the shit on your favourite I:D OR WAD.

It's so refreshing to check that a cat from my city would make avant garde mfashoni magazine from Britain sit up and look. Go Jam!
